While we are planning your implant surgery using advanced computer models and technology, you may still need to take precautions to ensure you’re ready for your upcoming dental implant procedure. Follow our guidelines will help to make sure that the dental implant procedure and recovery process is carried out as effectively and possible.

• Avoid smoking for at least one month before surgery;
• Avoid drinking beer and hard alcohol beverages
• Avoid eating food or drinking beverages for 6-8 hours before your procedure
• Following your dental implant procedure, make sure to schedule a ride home.
• Please have a family member or close friend stay with you during the recovery process.

After we have planned out your guided dental implant procedure, an ongoing dental implant treatment roadmap can follow. Since all tests and assessments will be made prior to your procedure, the dental implant procedure may be done over a relatively brief period of time.

Depending on the number of implants that you are obtaining, either local anesthesia or IV sedation will have to be used to allow you to relax while undergoing your procedure.

Postoperative discomfort and pain are reduced, and healing time is limited. In most circumstances, guided dental implant surgery is performed within just under an hour, often with several dental implants involved.

Since many facets of a dental implant procedure can be performed in advance, the whole procedure can now be conducted in hours rather than dragging out a few months.
